The weavers of the Zemmour region in northeast Morocco are well known for their stunning flatweave rugs, known as hanbels or kilims ~ usually recognizable by their variations on triangular motifs in colors of red, white and black. This lovely hanbel is unusual for its incredibly subtle, soft palette of tan, pale rose and cream. If there had been another we would have brought it back, too.
Size: 4'8" x 7'2"
Materials: sheep's wool, natural dyes
Condition: Excellent. Due to the handmade nature of these textiles, wear consistent with age and use is normal. This may include small worn areas, fraying and color bleeding. When we choose our rugs we make sure that they are in new or good vintage condition. These imperfections often enhance the character and distinctive nature of each one-of-a-kind piece.
Care: Blot spills with cold water. Professional cleaning recommended. Most handwoven textile colors will fade in bright sunlight.
