Mayan textile artistry coupled with mid-century modern design have resulted in this captivating chair. Newly upcycled and reupholstered in crisp, white cotton duck, accented with a bedazzling, multicolored, vintage textile, this is truly a one-of-a-kind find. Woven on a backstrap loom for an indigenous Guatemalan woman in Chichicastenango, this wide sash was one of our favorite finds in the "Chichi" market which is one of the most amazing native markets in the Americas. If you've never been there, put it on your list. Look closely and you can discern stylized animal and bird figures ~ symbolic designs characteristic of the weavings from this highlands region.
